Over 100 businesses and nonprofits enrolled in ANCA CPR program<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. \u2014 The Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) invites local entrepreneurs to join
\nover 100 small businesses and nonprofits who have already enrolled in its Center for Pandemic Response (ANCA
\nCPR). Made up of program navigators from ANCA and expert service providers from partner organizations, ANCA
\nCPR helps North Country small businesses build stability and resilience.<\/p>\n
Whether or not they have experienced negative economic impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses and
\norganizations can still benefit from the professional support and free and low-cost technical services ANCA CPR
\nprovides. This week, ANCA launched a marketing campaign designed to engage new businesses in the program.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want people to know that no matter what kind of business they operate and no matter where they are in
\ntheir business journey, we can connect them with resources and professional networks to address their needs
\nand plan for the future,\u201d said Danielle Delaini, ANCA\u2019s Entrepreneurial Economy Program director. \u201cThese
\nservices cover practical concerns like fixed costs, supply chain efficiencies and marketing, as well as holistic goals
\nlike improved communication, diversity and belonging in the workplace.\u201d<\/p>\n
The ANCA CPR team works closely with clients to:<\/p>\n
\u25cf Create or update a business or strategic plan to meet financial goals
\n\u25cf Grow digital marketing, online presence, and social media to reach new customers
\n\u25cf Reduce overhead and energy costs
\n\u25cf Apply for and manage business funding assistance
\n\u25cf Develop a transition plan to sell or change ownership
\n\u25cf Improve workplace communication
\n\u25cf Learn about health insurance opportunities
\n\u25cf Strengthen welcoming and belonging for diverse staff and visitors
\n\u25cf Participate in shared aggregation and distribution services
\n\u25cf Stay up to date on other small business services and programs hosted by ANCA and partners across
\nthe region and beyond<\/p>\n
Jessy Jolicoeur, owner of Oval Craft Brewing in Plattsburgh, has utilized ANCA CPR services to improve energy
\nefficiency and strategic planning for his business.<\/p>\n
“ANCA CPR has been a fountain of information for my small business coming out of the pandemic,\u201d he said.
\n\u201cANCA informed me of programs and educational opportunities that will improve my business and make Oval
\nCraft Brewing more sustainable. These will help me grow my business while maintaining my goals of energy
\nefficiency and supporting the community.”<\/p>\n
Jolicoeur worked with ANCA\u2019s Clean Energy Program staff to assess current electricity use, explore renewable
\nenergy options and obtain a heating audit. He also attended a strategic planning workshop with CITEC Business
\nSolutions in May 2022.<\/p>\n
Jolicoeur is one of 80 ANCA CPR clients representing a wide range of industries \u2014 from restaurants and farms to
\nmuseums and environmental groups to fitness centers and gift shops \u2014 that have begun accessing low- and
\nno-cost services, including webinars, working groups, individual consultations and ongoing support. Over 20
\nmore are working with program navigators to assess urgent and long-term needs, identify appropriate services
\nand begin accessing technical support.<\/p>\n
ANCA CPR\u2019s network of expert service providers includes the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation,
\nCITEC Business Solutions, Cooperative Development Institute, North Country Chamber of Commerce, SUNY
\nCanton Small Business Development Center and the Center for Businesses in Transition partnership, which is led
\nby ANCA and comprised of 12 regional organizations. Assistance is also provided by ANCA staff working in four
\nkey program areas: local food systems, clean energy, entrepreneurship and the Adirondack Diversity Initiative.
\nIn May 2021, ANCA received a combined grant award of $1.268 million from the U.S. Department of Commerce\u2019s
\nEconomic Development Administration (EDA) and The Mastercard Impact Fund, which is administered by The
\nMastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, to develop and implement ANCA CPR. ANCA aims to support 305
\nbusinesses and organizations through the program by Fall 2023.
\nSmall businesses and local nonprofits are invited to to complete an ANCA CPR interest form at
\nadirondack.org\/small-business-services\/ and then schedule a no-cost, no-obligation consultation with a program
\nnavigator.<\/p>\n
