Adam Pearsall Joins ANCA\u2019s Board of Directors<\/strong>
\nNorth Country native brings financial expertise to regional nonprofit<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

SARANAC LAKE, N.Y.<\/strong> \u2014 <\/b>The Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) has announced the addition of North Country native and financial expert Adam Pearsall to its board of directors. Pearsall, who serves as a financial advisor and senior portfolio manager in Glens Falls, N.Y., was elected to ANCA\u2019s board at its quarterly meeting on March 10, 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to welcome Adam to the ANCA team as we continue to deepen our work with businesses and communities across the North Country,\u201d said ANCA Executive Director Elizabeth Cooper. \u201cAdam\u2019s diverse interests, strong financial background, and intimate knowledge of our region and its small business sector will help guide our strategic goals and targeted programs in the years ahead. We\u2019re grateful to Adam for sharing his insight and talents with the organization and our constituents.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A native of Johnsburg, N.Y., Pearsall worked as a geophysicist and mineral exploration geologist in the greater New York City area and western United States before entering the financial industry in 1999. He has experience with regional nonprofits, having served as trustee and chair of the Silver Bay YMCA Board of Trustees and founding member, president, and first board chair of the Warren County Radio Club. Pearsall is currently a member of the Lower Adirondack Search and Rescue team and a volunteer trail steward for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. He also serves as vice president of Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation, where he reviews grant proposals for projects that improve quality of life for year-round residents of the Adirondacks. Pearsall earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in geology from Colby College and holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. He now resides in Queensbury, N.Y. with his wife Sara and their two children.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGrowing up in Minerva and Johnsburg and working with business owners and individuals throughout the North Country, I understand the many challenges they face,\u201d Pearsall said. \u201cIt is exciting to see ANCA fulfill the need for an organization that coordinates the resources business owners need to transition their companies or find and retain employees. I’m thrilled to serve ANCA and their efforts to support businesses in the region in order to sustain and grow our local communities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Pearsall is one of nearly 190 people who attended the <\/span>Small Communities. Big Opportunities.<\/span><\/i> Conference<\/span><\/i> on February 12-14, 2023 in Saranac Lake, N.Y.\u00a0 Presented by ANCA and other Center for Businesses in Transition partners, the conference convened current and aspiring small business owners, business support professionals, and community leaders around business transition issues and resources.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to providing programs for small businesses, ANCA works with regional partners to strengthen the North Country region\u2019s food systems; clean energy economy; and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts. ANCA hosts events ranging from one-hour virtual workshops for businesses and municipal leaders to multi-day, in-person conferences that tackle timely issues and opportunities \u2014 like the upcoming <\/span>Clean Energy Conference<\/span><\/i><\/a> set for June 1-2, 2023 in Utica, N.Y.
